EASTERN NC TEA PARTY ENDORSES ERIC EARHART FOR CONGRESS

 

The Eastern NC Tea Party was founded in 2009 and has continued to meet and be a viable force for education and change. It originated as a protest against Barack Obama’s bail-out bill but in a larger sense, it was a protest against federal abuse and tyranny. In 1773, the colonists held a similar protest in Boston in response to the abuse at the hands of King George and the British Parliament. It birthed a movement for liberty and eventually for independence from Great Britain. Patrick Henry said it best: “Why do we stand here idle? Is life so dear, or peace so sweet, as to be purchased at the price of chains and slavery? Forbid it, Almighty God! I know not what course others may take; but as for me, give me liberty or give me death.”

 

We can compare those early years to the situation our country currently faces. The federal government shows no allegiance to or understanding of the US Constitution and we, as a nation, are struggling with our political identity and our social identity. The very fabric of our country is coming apart at the seams, forcing us to become strangers and even enemies to one another.

 

What has happened to the American family? To our school system? To the treatment of our yet unborn babies?

 

We want to believe in government, we want we want to believe that North Carolina values our talents and skills and has jobs so we can take care of ourselves and our families, we want to believe our children are being educated well in the public school system, and we want to believe that babies aren’t being slaughtered simply for convenience because we want so badly to believe people are inherently good and decent and value life. In short, we want to believe that government is on our side and we need to believe there are a few good men out there willing to represent us.

 

Eric Earhart is such a man. He’s an honest, sincere, compassionate, godly, and conservative man. He’s a veteran, a patriot, a family man, a true Southern gentleman.

 

He gets his strength and moral compass from God, from his deep and profound love for America, from his family, and from the many good and virtuous people in North Carolina.

 

He is running for NC House district 3.

 

The Tea Party movement, and especially the ENC Tea Party, believes and advocates for principles enshrined in the Declaration of Independence, the US Constitution, the state ratifying conventions, and the many writings and explanations from our wise Founding Fathers. We believe, first and foremost in a limited government, defined by the words of the Constitution, and in the basic concept of inalienable rights which is the basis for our individual liberty. We believe in fiscal responsibility, low taxes, free markets (economic freedom), personal responsibility, States’ Rights (10th Amendment), free speech, religious liberty, the right to keep and bear firearms, the right to a sound, basic education, and the right to life and the right to make one’s own medical decisions.

 

Eric strongly believes in these principles and has promised to support and endorse them if elected to office. His character is defined by his deep and abounding faith in God and our Lord Jesus Christ, his profound love for our beautiful state and our country, his belief in the critical role of the family in society, and the love and devotion he has for his own family. He has decided to run for office because he felt the need and the calling to try to make a difference for his family’s sake (he has 6 beautiful young children) and for the longevity and integrity of this country and for our Constitution.

 

Eric looks to Jesus Christ as the one person who most strongly inspires him and promises that, if elected, he will represent and defend the freedom of his constituents as enumerated in the Declaration and Bill of Rights. He understands well that the Constitution was adopted for the benefit of the People – it sets limits on the authority and reach of the federal government in their lives. He tells people how his life is a perfect example of how an individual can live and achieve the American dream and hopes that his legacy will be his commitment to defending and preserving that dream for everyone.

 

As candidate Earhart explains: “Freedom is the most important blessing our Constitution recognizes. It must be defended by every generation. My first priority is to ensure that the federal government is answerable to the people. My second priority is border security, energy independence, and national sovereignty in business and finance. Another priority is draining the swamp and addressing the political corruption and ambition in DC.

 

Patrick Henry spoke these prophetic words at the Virginia Ratifying Convention in 1788: “Guard with jealous attention the public liberty. Suspect everyone who approaches that jewel. Unfortunately, nothing will preserve it but downright force. Whenever you give up that force, you are inevitably ruined.”

 

The Eastern NC Tea Party is honored and privileged to endorse Eric Earhart for Congress. He is a man worthy of your vote and a man we sorely need to represent us in DC.
